MGI Digital Graphic Technology announced that it has chosen Graphics of the Americas 2006 as the venue of choice for introducing its newest high speed 4-color digital presses to the Americas. The Meteor DP 40, a multi substrate digital press for paper and plastic substrates, and the Master City Pro, an entry level high speed digital press for paper and synthetics for formats up to A4/Legal, will be demonstrated live for the first time at this year’s Graphics of the Americas. MGI will also be unveiling its new high speed double sided hot roll laminator designed specifically for digital toner based output, the PowerLam. The Meteor DP 40, like the Meteor DP 30, retains the ability to switch from Paper to Plastic substrates within seconds and print at 1800 dpi and 200 lpi with full Variable Data and no click charges. The Meteor DP 40 is aggressively priced in terms of Total Cost of Ownership and Cost of Production, and does not have any click charges. The new Meteor DP 40 prints photo quality images on a large variety of paper and plastic substrates, ideal for brochures, business cards, letterhead, postcards, data sheets, envelopes, posters, as well as plastic ID or membership gift cards, controlled access & security cards, and Loyalty cards.
