OPTICAL STORAGE SYMPOSIUM 2005

The Optical Storage Technology Association will present its fourth annual Optical Storage Symposium on Sept. 28, 2005. Each year, this event draws business and technology leaders from a diverse range of industry segments including consumer electronics, digital photography, entertainment, music, personal computers, optical storage and archival storage to exchange ideas and keep pace with the latest industry trends. Presentations and roundtable forums will focus on perspectives and prospects for optical storage technology and how it impacts each of these industry segments.
This year, the event is co-located with InfoTrends/CAP Ventures’ "Digital Imaging ’05, to enable attendees of both events to participate in sessions from the two conferences and selected joint activities, which include a joint keynote luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 28. The event is expected to draw more than 200 executives. For the OSS 2005 sessions, two tracks are planned on Consumer Electronics and Commercial Optical Storage Applications (COSA). For consumer electronics, topics include: Managing Life in a Digital World; Competing/Alternative Technologies, Future Optical Storage, and more.
Topics for the COSA sessions include “ILM: Migration of Data Across Tiered Storage,” “Optical Storage: New Applications and Critical Needs,” “Beyond DVD - What's In Store for the Future of Archival Optical Media,”and “The Search for an Archival Medium- The 100 year Optical Disc.”
